ProdID-Check till helper (Windows)

What it does
When a teller scans a ProdID-Check tag with the till's USB scanner, ProdID-Check opens straight on the sale form
for that tag, whatever program was in front. The teller types the buyer's name and finishes the sale.
Barcodes for your own till software are not touched.

Set up (once per till computer)
1. Copy this whole folder somewhere permanent, for example C:\ProdID-Till-Helper. Do not run it from the zip file.
2. Double-click Install.bat.
Windows may say "Windows protected your PC". Choose "More info", then "Run anyway".
3. A message says the helper is installed. It now starts with Windows.
4. Open ProdID-Check in the browser (app.html) and sign in as the store. Leave it open.
5. Scan a tag to try it.

To stop it for now: double-click Stop.bat. To remove it: double-click Remove.bat.

Good to know
- It only works on Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit).
- It listens to the keyboard (a scanner is a keyboard). It holds back only keys that start like a ProdID-Check tag
("PIC-" or "http") for a fraction of a second, and keeps nothing. It writes a small log, prodid-helper.log, with the
tags scanned. Never the keys typed.
- If a tag is scanned and nothing happens, the scanner may add a different ending than Enter. Ask us.
